Tips for Getting Featured on SodaHead
We're currently overhauling our process for featuring community content (that's content by YOU) with the aim of getting more people featured more often. For example, you may have noticed that the rotating "carousel" at the top of the Fun & Humor page now features as many as 8 community posts a day:http://www.sodahead.com/fun/
In addition to the content featured in the Fun & Humor carousel and in the "Community" section on the right side of the front page. We will be adding more ways to feature community content in the coming months, so stay tuned.
So, how do we decide what to feature? There are several things we look for in a post. Follow these guidelines to increase the likelihood of getting featured:
**Don't Copy/Paste**
Don't copy/paste an entire article or you will not get featured. If you want to talk about an article from another website or blog, include a brief summary or description in your own words and use the optional URL field to paste a link to the original source.
**Choose Multiple Choice**
"Open Answer" questions are a lot of fun, and will continue to be featured, but "Multiple Choice" questions with short, straightforward answer choices are more likely to be featured.
If you're writing a blog, try ending it with a question and a few multiple choice answers to increase your chances of getting featured.
**Short, Catchy Content**
Write short, catchy questions with brief, straightforward answers. Feel free to add as much personality to your post as you want, but don't let too many words detract from your message.
If you're writing a blog, don't write your entire thesis. Try finishing it off with a question and a few multiple choice answers to increase your chances of getting featured.
**State Your Opinion, But Don't Make the Post All About an Attack on Another SH Group**
Posts that attack another group on SodaHead (ex: "those libtards" or "those right wing nut jubs") will not be featured, since these posts generally lead to flame wars and, erm, uncivilized behavior among users.
**Add An Image**
Add an image to your post. Content with images is more likely to get featured.
**Get the Discussion Started**
After posting, share your post with as many people as possible. If editorial sees lots of people discussing your content, they will more likely feature it.

if you don't like the so called "politics" of this site.... move on...you are only registered...not enslaved to stay.....people use this site free of any fee .... therefore.... like it or lump it...... nuff said i think...; ))
But the real question is - what makes you think your content is gonna be lame? :)
Thanks for the useful tips.
While it's helpful to understand the process, I think it's a mistake to favor "dumbed-down" content for featuring purposes. Theoretically, a couple pages of well thought out argumentation of Charles Krauthammer quality should be the ideal. Of course, few of us are that bright, but the general idea is that correct facts, sound logic, and profound conclusions is what separates recreation from serious blogging. Upping the quality of discussion by rewarding really substantive author posts raises the quality level of the site. If people know that really brainy material will be rewarded with exposure, then many will put more effort into creating high quality blogs and polls.

Aren't you leading a 'boycott' or something?
The left is pleased...congratulations.
Rules haven't changed...where do you think they changed?
