I don't think that SH means any harm. But maybe it is a way to encourage more participation by members. Honestly in my life this is really not all that bad.

A ranking system like this is likely to encourage a childish competition to earn rank--rather than motivator for meaningful discussion.

I'll drop my life and be on this site full time and maybe I can catch the leaders. Woohoo! :D


The only thing this is really accomplishing is turning everything into a competition and it's steering the site away from what it was founded upon: a site for better or worse to share your opinions. I only see the full time users being active but don't see many NEW users coming on to this site. Ahhhhh...well. I'm back in school and hopefully I'll be able to find a better job so that's going to keep me good and busy. :)

Like everything else that you have changed it sucks. Change it back, or lose your loyal users.

What purpose does this have? Will there be any bonuses, prizes, benefits for having a higher level?

We plan to add rewards for reaching higher levels - certain privileges etc. Is there anything you'd like to be able to earn? We're open to ideas.

Yes, money.
The site profits off of users. We don't need to be payed to use the site. It is nice that you are offering the services for free. However, monetary incentive would encourage us to be more active. Much more active.

What about T-shirts for reaching a high level, and have the ability to buy similar products, t-shirts, hats, etc on a Sodahead shopping cart https site built into this one?

I can think of a lot of other little things that would sell, like coffee mugs, ties, pens and other stationary, sweatshirts, sweatpants, shorts, and lots more.

I don't give a rat's a** about ranks and point's I'm not playing a bloody video game when I come to SH. You ever hear of market research?

I don't look at them and don't care about them - when I find people with a thousand raves - a rarely used profile up until recently - going around making mindless little comments like :) - , _ etc. ,,, --- all over polls to get points or levels - and they out rank me who has been here for three years - why would I possibly take this in the least bit seriously to tell me the first thing about any soda head?

This has become a juvenile hall evidently. They linked with FB to get that group over here. Now they are simply making it more homey for them by all appearances. I have had enough. I give them a few days to change it back, or I am gone too.

If it is already customized, then it's not showing it to me--when I hit "Create" NOTHING happens, like not even a "button press", and this continues today. Yes, I'm at 95%. Maybe it's something else--but this one is not wotking.

I am... and have tried multiple time to get it to work.... It would be nice to have that happen though...

I still don't see the reason to try and reinvent the wheel? This is the most mickey mouse crap I think I have ever seen. You have poll after poll telling you that we don't like nor want this kindergarten crap. I feel like I have to join Facebook to learn how to socialize as a 5th grader on what I thought was a majority adult social network. This site is no longer about expressing opinions or getting points out to the public. It is all about a race to a category to achieve gold star status. Ridiculous in concept and childish in design.
The more you attempt to improve this site, the less professional it appears and the more you chase off your loyal users of many years. I used to enjoy this site. Conversing with my friends, raving good comments, sharing my point of view. Now I am bombarded with shared questions from people I don't want to know, on topics I could give a shit about, all in the pursuit of gaining a pole position to prove who is the most popular masturbater.
If I haven't made it painfully obvious, I am completely disgusted with your current format and am in search of a site that caters to the intelligent of the world at large. I know there must be at least one site out there that doesn't seek the juvenile and adolescent population to boost their revenue with such grade school type reward tactics. Don't like my opinion? Don't give a shit. You don't listen to most of us anyway.

As per usual. If the comment is positive and ego boosting, SH ignores the comment. Fef should be ashamed of what this site has become. I am giving you a couple days to change it back, and then I am taking my 50 Raves and joining the 100's that have already bailed on this site. This used to be a reputable site. Now it just flat sucks.
