    Actually neither. I am from the South - they are all Cokes or Colas - even Pepsi products. LOL

    Actually, no other choice, I never called it either one...I grew up in Indianapolis Indiana,
    part of the town would call it by the name of what it was...Coke, Pepsi, Root Beer, Orange Drink...whatever....another part of town called it soda or in some neighborhoods "sodie"
    When I moved to Chicago later on, they above were called "soft drinks" or by their brand, a Beer was called a Pop....

    Carbonated water is soda and after that you have brands and flavors. I have heard them called simply "cold drinks", pop, soda pops, and cokes (with no distinguishing between brands or flavors.

    Grew up in Ohio saying Pop, but I roll with whatever puts an ice cold carbonated beverage in my hands!

    Where is the "Soda Pop" option. anyway technically it is soda or carbonated water with artificial flavors.

    However, I tend to be lazy and say "Hey I wanna Coke" even if I mean Sprite or Dr. Pepper or whatever. :D

    Grew up calling it soda. When I moved to Michigan (temporarily) and someone asked me if I wanted a pop, I thought they wanted to hit me.

    Every state I've lived in called it soda. In South Carolina they even called it a soder!

    But I've been living in Arizona for 5 years and they say soda....

    Actually here in Alabama, we don't really say either. I mean occasionally someone might call it a soda. We just call it the name of the drink.

    Actually, here in Texas we call everything "coke." I picked "soda" because it sounds better and I'm more likely to use it than pop, but yeah...everything is "coke."

    Person A: You want a coke?
    Person B: Yeah, what do you have?
    Person A: We have Coke, Pepsi, Sprite, Dr. Pepper, etc.

    Being raised in Mississippi I first learned Soda. But since I moved to South Dakota almost 10 years ago. I have learned to say pop. And I have has people from other stats pop me with their hand for saying in. The same goes for lunch and dinner.

    I grew up saying "Soda" in New England, but saying soda remind you of baking soda. Living in Detroit,Michigan for some years they use the word "Pop" for labelling their soft drinks. Either word,just give me the soft drink!
