Not sure why, but I don't like sleep and it takes quite a bit to get me to lay down. I've medication to help me sleep but then when I do I am asleep forever.
yes the world is just stressing I may go to sleep but then a few hours latter I'm fully awake,, Ive tried hard to do herbs, they just make me sick, or aren't strong enough. I have a Lorazepam, work for my mind to shut off
I have bouts of it. I get up for work at 4am every day and I don't go to bed before 11pm. It might take me more than an hour to get to sleep, if at all.
I have a really hard time falling asleep, but once I do I can normally at least stay asleep Last night it took until 3 in the morning for me to be able to fall asleep -.-
It's bad when you have to get up in the morning and you haven't really slept all night. I used to do that all the time when I was working.
My daughter has trouble sleeping and the doctor gave her some meds. Might be clonopin? Not sure though. When she was visiting us from Florida she took one too early before bed. With minutes it was like she was drunk, slurring her words, dropping things. Finally she fell asleep on the couch and stayed there all night. She seems to feel ok in the morning after taking them so maybe your doctor could prescribe something??
Too bad but I guess it can be addictive. Now my problem is that my sleeping is way off cycle. It's 4:18am and I'm wide awake. I'll probably fall asleep around 6 or 7 and then sleep til noon. So I'm way off. But then I'll be awake all day probably until early morning. I'm taking some medications that are supposed to keep me awake because I had been sleeping way too much. I like being awake more of the time but I still don't seem to be on any kind of schedule. But, I am more alert and attentive with the meds and that's a real good thing for me. I haven't felt so good in about 30 years. So there are always trade offs I guess.
I sleep about 4 in the morning to noon if im lucky sometimes its 6 or 8 til noon i got taken off because of the addictiveness but instead they put me on ativan (more addictive less effective) smart choice right?
Were you taking the Clonopin every night? If you were, that may be why they took you off it because it really can be addictive. My daughter only takes it when she needs it and so far she's been able to regulate her sleep without using it every night. Do you ever sleep normally? Like midnight to 6 or 7? Maybe your doctor would consider giving a limited number of clonopin just to cover those occasions. Doctors can be very weird about this kind of stuff. My 89 year old mother was given ativan when she was in the hospital two months ago for shortness of breath and anxiety. They wouldn't give it to her to take home because it's addictive. I was like, "She's 89 years old. They work. What's she going to do, sell them on the corner?" So I ended up with Valium in case she has another episode. But then I took her to her primary care doctor who is a gerontologist (specializes in old people) and she gave her the ativan without any problem. A lot depends on the doctor. Well I hope you get to sleep soon.
have a baby, nothing makes you want to go to sleep more than when you know that you have to be up to feed him in the middle of the night. you will then sleep as much as you can.
I lost jobs, been suicidal, hurt personal relationships all over insomnia that I have had since childhood!!! My mom used to spank me to make me go to sleep as I was singing and keeping everyone awake when I was still in a crib!!! The only way I have gotten relief is to take Ambien each and every night. It has kick-ass side effects, but it is the only thing that has given me a good night's sleep on a consistant basis my entire life.
Please be careful with the ambien.I took it every night for nearly twenty years.I put up with the sleep walking.....binge eating, online shopping and texting that I have no memory of.When i started having stroke and seizure type symptoms, my neurologist made me wean off of it.It was really rough with true withdrawl symptoms. Happy to say that I am ambien free now for 6 months.most nights now I am able to get about 6 hrs sleep. It sucks not to sleep.....but beware of ambien
I hear ya, please don't though. I've tried lots of sleep aids, now RX ones, like Trazadone, Klonopin, & natural ones like Melatonin, which helps alot. Ambien works, but they only give you 6 pills or so, for a month. What do you do then, when every night of the month, you can't sleep? They don't get it! I imagine you've tried all this too?
and can't go back to sleep and im tired in the moring.
Try a book on tape, something boring :)
Last night, out like a light.
