With technology developing ever so rapidly, life is changing for Americans, even on special occassions. One of those holidays is Thanksgiving. Good ol' Turkey Day. Instead of using recipe books, in this day and age, home chefs can Google ingredients. But the ease of accessing information such as recipes doesn't end there.

With apps from Google Play and The App Store, you can now search for specific recipes right on your smartphone or tablet, especially when you need to cook something on the fly. One particular app that cooks are hungry to try it is the Thanksgiving Menu Maker for Apple devices. Another is the Thanksgiving Recipes App for Android.

The Chow Thanksgiving Dinner Coach is specifically made for those that haven't cooked a Thanksgiving dinner with turkey and all the fixings before. It's almost like a first time cook's best friend. So if you need a little extra help this Thanksgiving, with apps like these, you'll never be alone or out of luck. And for traditionalists, there's always the old fashioned way.

I'll finish life without the distraction of a smart phone, tablet or any of that newfangled junk. However, in a pinch I might Goggle some recipe or other on my computer--a solid, calm, private and very adequate bit of technology for my needs. If I ever develop an insecurity that leads me to get involved in Facebook, Twitter and all--someone please shoot me.

Words With Friends is an app, and I already played today. I'll check in on it later, but for now, a nap.

What is an app? Heck, just go on line if you are confused... or even better, call Grandma or someone and ask how to cook it!

I feel nothing but sorrow for those who are so reliant on their electronic doohickeys that they cannot function....

If the recipe ain't broke, and the family likes it, I do not generally go looking for a way to 'fix it'. So, no Apps.

Being almost 50, I've put this meal together plenty of times. I use trusted family recipes that have been handed down and are quite reliable and tasty! :)

Thanksgiving is for the many things we should be grateful for. Apps is way behind Appetite, family, friends, football or just giving thanks to a creator who put up with us this long and has given us a number of challenges in this past year to look back and see how much better off we are than last.

We might have unemployment understated in government stats; government picking the most favorable policy costs stats on daily product needs of our 310 million people have like food, oil, gasoline, so the can inflate their value to us. At least they lied and didn't release the real stats and throw us all into therapy! See, there's a lot to be thankful for, even though the election is not one of them!

Don't let the apple commercials fool you. I bet there is a very low amount of people using ipads and apps for cooking and all the stuff shown lol.

I agree on the taste level but is was used a lot more than for pie crust, back in the day, and it is very hard on the arteries.
