No one is trying to deny birth control to anyone in this country. It's a question of who will pay for it. That's a very different issue. Just because the federal government or, in some cases, insurance companies won't pay for birth control doesn't mean people are being denied access to it.

OK. That's your opinion, that it's in the general interest. I look at Japan and Europe and their declining populations and don't think limiting births to Americans is necessarily in our interest, though I guess I'd be in favor of paying for birth control for liberals.

No. I'm really not in favor of being forced to pay for birth control for anyone. Of course, I don't think the U.S. government should be providing these aid packages in the first place. In any event, you deliberately reversed what I said.

Birth Control & Education would not only reduce excess population & starvation but also reduce the spread of AIDS & orphaned children raising their very young siblings with no skills to support them.

I agree that charity begins at home, but if we're going to send food to these places (and apparently we are) we should do something about the other side of the problem as well. And yes, the author of the poll did include a picture of birth control pills, but they only said "birth control" which has many methods including the condoms and surgeries you mentioned. And there is a group called "Doctors Without Borders" that renders medical aid around the world (again, I agree, charity starts at home) that could perform surgeries, insert IUD's and instruct on the correct usage of condoms.

A prescription is required for birth control pills, which would require a visit to or from a doctor.
America needs to mind it's own business. Feeding people is one thing, trying to shove pills down their throats is another thing altogether.

What about other forms of birth control? There are many, and if we are going to run around saving everyone (and apparently we are) we could at least address one of the root causes of starvation.

Yeah, I think other forms would be a good idea. Not only would it prevent many births, but lots of STD's that are responsible for huge numbers of deaths!
