Should we demand our elected officials protect us from cheaply made Chinese garbage?

Are you interested in helping the American economy? Buy products made in America! Buy products made by American manufacturers! Buy products made in America and sold by Americans! Keep the money in America.

It was my Bad days in China , i hate that country because of Its stupid Culture & Animal way of Living . They are worse than Dogs & judge People according to there Money & Race . If middle east thinks America is Dangerous , than i say Chinese are more than any dangerous Nation in the World . They show the World a different Image of Them & in real there image is ugly than any being on Earth ...

Only the person who spend his some years iN China can understand what the Hell is this ... I am from Middle East & i respect Talent & Education of America & its technologies .

China / Athiests / will be a great threat in future for " Religion Followers like Christians/Muslims/Jews - and i can see Atheists will kick all of Us out .... than we Religion Followers will be United & dats will be the time of ' Armageddon !

We should be protected from all sorts of things. It has nothing to do with a specific country, nationality, or ethnicity. In fact, the United States Gov't does its fair share of doing all sorts of things to harm its own citizens.

Don't bring anything home you aren't proud of, Thomas Jefferson had the right Idea. Be selective. It's up to you, If you don't buy 'crap' they can't sell 'Crap'.

The government would do better to help educate us, no to try and make sensible legislation that restricts free trade. If we don't buy the "crap", it'll not be shipped here.

The problem here is the cheap garbage is market driven, and people choose to buy it. As well, the issues that pop up when you place tariffs on Chinese goods so they cost more than American goods is you start a trade war.

Those are not good for anyone, so the solution is not to ask elected officials to protect us, but to change buyer mindsets so they choose American goods on their own. The issue that pops up there is not everyone can afford the better quality goods and has to buy the "chinese garbage" that costs less.

No more nanny government, us your brain, read the label if it's cheap Chinese garbage and you want to buy American, put it down and find something made here. Take personal responsibility for what you do and buy.

most of our tv come from china as well as our stereos. computers on the other hand come from the u.s. though the chips come from china.
so the answer to the question is in what product you are talking about. with china, kids are not usually part of the work shops. they do not need to be. cambodia or the likes that's a different story

If you don't want Chinese crap don't buy it. If you need a government official to tell you not to waste your money you have bigger issues than you thought.

You always have choices. If you don't have money, you don't buy something you can't afford. If what you can afford is cheap things, then you buy the absolute necessity cheap thing that you need, like clothing. If the clothing you need and can afford is made in China, then you just have to buy it but IMO, it is better to wait and buy a better quality items later. We live in a disposable society, it is wasteful to do so. The choice is yours.
