Twilight was a box office blockbuster this holiday season, with big budget production and visual effects, but got no Oscar love in the 2009 Academy Award nominations. Do you think Twilight should have been nominated for an Oscar?
not really awards worthy, at all. The movie was bad, the acting was bad, the cast was not even close to the book characters, (Jasper and Alice are ok)but mainly the movie was bad, to be oscar worthy means great acting, great special effects, great everything, I enjoyed WALLE wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy more than this movie and I am 17 and twilight is the movie I would pay not to see again. top of all The oscars are fair, You asked people If they would give twilight an oscar, well we tend to say yes to our favorites, I would personally give all of the awards to "Walle" but It would be unfair considering "Slumdog Millionaire" was a hit, a great movie with GREAT ACTING. great music and it is been praised by critics, also "the Wrestler" and " the Dark Knight", along with "Benjamin Button's"
just because Twilight did good in box office it does not mean it was a good movie, tops of all even close to it. Many gog movie don't get the attention they deserve in box office.
This movie I am really looking up for this year, it's gonna kick many twilighters butts.

The story is plain god awful, the visual effects look like a cheesy television show, and the acting is stale. There is now way in hell this could possibly be nominated
It had a weak plot and the movie was terrible. Everyone sounded like they had really bad asthma. I watched it for the heck of it and I laughed at the 'intense' scenes--I don't think that's how it works. There are a lot of movies that I think are really excellent, Twilight not included.
Twilight is completely cliche. Just like Avatar. The academy gives awards to movies that do something new and with a deep story. Twilight is nothing like that.
Twilight is a shallow film with one-dimensional characters and is basically like every other chick flick teen love story except with a vampire and a werewolf.

The only thing i didnt like about new moon, was that it was very dark.
For Twilight it was very blue.
For New Moon it was Black and yellow
And for Eclipse it was a more darker blue, sort of natural colour.
But all the movies should have gotten an Oscar or something!
i think the twilight movies are not very good. so i think other movies should be nominated because in twilight the acting is not good and it wouldn´t be such a sucess if there wasn´t actors like robert pattison and taylor lautner.
NO!!! Never in a million years should crap like Twilight EVER even be included at the oscars for anything. The acting was monotonic, the special effects were atrocious, and the movie was corny. I didn't feel any romance at all. To put Twilight in the same category as "Milk" and "Slumdog Millionaire" is downright scary. Slumdog Millionaire was 100x more romantic then Twilight. That is the true love story of the year! And what do you know? It won best picture!
Why not, Slumdog got one and Heath Ledger won for the Joker, that show has been done way too many times, it should be like the presidency 2 times and your out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Heath Ledger was a great actor. No one in that twilight film came even close to having his acting ability. Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson....BAD casting choices.
I agree, they only picked the actors for their looks, I love Heath Ledger, I miss him. Just like Sir Richard Harris, the guy who played Dumbledore in the First film and half of the second.
How can you take a movie that was geared mainly towards teen girls (and just because your mom wanted to see it, doesn't mean crap, all right?) and compare it to the movies that were nominated? Seriously, Twilight versus "Slumdog Millionaire"? That's like a senior versus a preschooler.
