the United States change its national anthem from The Star-Spangled Banner to
another popular patriotic song such as America The Beautiful or God Bless

I GET SO PI$$ED OFF WHEN I HEAR THESE IDIOTS SCREW UP THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SONG WITH THEIR RENDITION BY SCREECHING & YELOLLOWING LIKE SOME FOOL a song that has REVERENCE & TRADITION & PATRIOTISM. Of which they know very little! They had a throw at changing some words to things at the Super Bowl at half time in which they INSERTED THE word ☭bama. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH ! I AM NOT PUTTING UP WITH THIS CRAP! You friends of the Cat House and Members know EXACTLY what I mean.

Yeah it's difficult to sing, but who said being an American was supposed to be easy.

I want to hear the Mexican anthem in English. Ours is fine in English.

Now while I been to some red wings games, the crowd is always mannered an respectful while the athem is played, (for the most part)
In chicago, they do things a bit different.
right from the gitgo, they start in with the " CAN THE WORLD HEAR US NOW" WE DON"T SURRENDER or BACK DOWN

The National Anthem should be sung as written, without all the ridiculous vocal gymnastics that modern pop stars seem hell-bent on adding in.

Many years ago, I watched an Indycar race on television, maybe early '90s, before the Indy Racing League existed and there was only the CART league. I don't recall the exact race, but the guy they had to sing the National Anthem was Joe Walsh. Now, I'm a HUGE fan of Joe Walsh, he's one of my major guitar heroes, but I thought at the time, "this is going to be a total train wreck".

I was wrong. He belted it out... completely in tune, no "extra notes", he hit all the highs, no cracking of the voice at all. He did it like it was meant to be done, and he sang that song better than any song I ever heard him sing.

It clearly meant something to him.

That's how it should be sung. Leave the artistic interpretation (lol) for the studio...

I can remember this being the subject of much discussion when I was a kid ... at the time many thought the official National Athem should be replaced with this song. It is the only one I can think of that would be the best representative of America just as they thought 40/50 years ago ....

Although it is hard to sing and was written during the Civil War, it is beautiful and I don't think it should be changed. I don't sing, can't sing, but I know what I like when I hear it. I like it!

I know every word of the song, also that Christina screwed it up in front of millions, but I also know that this country was built thru the 7 deadly sins, so I don't plan on singin it 4 anybody any time soon!

It is too militaristic and hard to sing. There are many other good patriotic songs. I like America the Beautiful.

Too militaristic? You realize we were forged in a war, hardened in a war and advanced through war, correct? It is not hard to sing. it is beautiful. I cannot hear it without becoming teary-eyed.

During my little 15 month slice of the Iraq war, my outpost was under siege and in danger of being overrun. RPGs and small arms fire filled the air. Parachute flares blossomed and descended from the night sky. Red and Green tracers passed each other. I carried a folded flag that hat been presented to me when I became an eagle scout years before. I carried it under my ballistic plate, close to my chest. In 1/1000000000th of a second I made up my mind that no Non-American was going to take this from me. We fought all night, and by morning the enemy had given up and made a run for it. The flag was still there.

If you can't sing it without choking and forgetting the words and you can't stay with the original melody line ( slight free style only at the end is acceptable) then don't embarrass yourself and disgrace our Anthem! Enough said!

I don't sing along with the anthem because I have NO singing ability at all. In fact, I stopped singing in church and half the congregation said their prayers have been answered.

I'm not American but I say HELL NO. because that anthem has been sung by americans for years and I don't think any country should change their anthem it's a part of the country.

It doesn't matter where I'm from. I think none of the countries should change their anthem. it is part of the country.
P.S. Slovenia has a very complicated history no one can understand.
