Ours is already 18. Eh, education is the key. People will drink regardless of age and be stupid regardless of age. (Seriously, I don't think many people actually wait until they are of legal age, that's just nonsense which some choose to believe. Pfft) It was actually far more "exciting" drinking at 16 because it was so taboo. When I got to 18, it was just something I could do and not nearly as edgy.

If a person can legally drive at 16 and serve in the military at 17-18 there should be not reason to stop alcohol consumption.

Drinking age should absolutely be commensurate with the age of enlistment in the armed forces.

as 2008 and 2012 PROVED beyond a reasonable doubt that 18 year olds are functional idiots and can not be trusted for adult responsibility as i told a socialist Studies teacher in 72 I am for the Draft (and now the volunteer ) age to be 21 as well unless signed permission by BOTH parents....that should stop ghetto trash from hiding out in the army

I lived in Germany for a year, and it was 16 there. They had very few deaths in comparison to here that had to do with alcohol. Learning how to control your consumption at an early age is key. Plus, we all know that half the kids under 21 drink anyways, and they just binge drink because they have that "I might not get any for a long time after this!" mentality.

I wish there would have been an older legal drinking age when I was growing up. It was 19, so you were legally able to start on a path to be an alcoholic 2 years sooner. I'm not saying every body who drinks is going to be a drunk, it just gives you a head start. This dying for your country argument doesn't make sense to me. Unless there's a draft, you voluntarily joined the military, for whatever your reason. But going out and getting drunk and possibly putting other lives at risk isn't helping anything or anyone. I can only go by my past experience, and like I said, I wish they made it more difficult to get booze when I was a teenager.

That's actually what made it exciting for us to drink. That it was "difficult to get."
Oh, the mentality you have when you're young and stupid, hey?

I went to my Aunt's house when I was 15. Wine galore. It kind of killed the "cool rebelliousness" of drinking. But on the plus side she did have some great wine. So, meh, win win.

18 year olds may be adults but they are significantly more immature than 21 year olds, and 21 year olds are more immature than 23 year olds etc...
I think for now the legal drinking age is fine, and if an 18 year old wants some drinks they can make some more mature friends if they are mature enough, and have them purchase if for them.

The government makes stupid rules sometimes. I prefer to look at them as guide lines. Also when it comes to the government illegal to me means you got caught. You have to be like a tree falling in the woods when nobody is there. Don't make a sound.

You are seriously trying to deny that you have driven a car after you have been drinking. Like you said as long as you don’t get caught it is ok that is what you said right. Well since your morals are kind of shaddy it is not jumping to conclusions and why should I believe you. According to you you can lie and as long as you don’t get caught it is ok right. I am not stupid you idiot.

You clearly believe that you're much smarter than you are. News flash though, smart people can usually come up with better insults than that. Actually, i'd like you to know that thus far you are the only one here who has been resorting to insults. So if you are doing so because you feel yourself to be morally superior it's hypocritical.
Secondly you took every thing that I posted completely out of context. I never said I drink and drive. I never said I distribute alcohol to minors. But you are firmly convinced that I do because you're so astute at making assumptions and judging people.
I believe you should calm down. There is nothing to prove here, and whatever you believe you have against me you should carefully reevaluate.

Not into giving insults. I just point the truth out even though it can hurt. You started getting all sarcastic on me I just pointed out that your thinking is messed up and you took it from there. I just got as sarcastic as you did. I am just responding to your posts. I told you you would prove my point and you have. Thank you.

No I did not you straight up are shady there is no doubt about it "I prefer to look at them as guide lines. Also when it comes to the government illegal to me means you got caught” you can not mistake this. You don’t like following any law and it is only bad when you get caught. Shame on you. I am firmly convinced you have drank and drive because you are a shady. You brake the law just don’t get caught right. What kind of crap is that anyway?

"I work as a bouncer and I see all different aged people leaving the club drunk. The most are young though."
#1 I did not accuse you of serving to minors I said “IF"

The only thing I have against you is your shady and hypocritical thinking and with every post you post you prove it to me.

Like I said you are jumping to conclusions, but whatever. I was very general in my statements, and at this point I don't like you or want to correct you. You have rubbed me the wrong way, as I'm sure you are quite good at doing with people.
I don't believe that a person who disobey's mans law is a hypocrite either. Men try to force you to obey their laws, but your ideals can be different. For those with weak comprehension that means that if I don't preach it and enforce it then it doesn't make my a hypocrite to disobey it.
Of coarse to you that means I am a raving mad man, murdering, stealing and robbing banks. But to most people that just might make them want to ask me what specific laws I don't feel obliged to lose any sleep over if I happen to break it. i could simply be referring to driving 5 miles over the speed limit when there's no traffic, or allowing a 19 year old to enjoy a beer at home.
Of coarse to someone like you breaking any law (no matter how much of a trifle it is) is an offense worthy of the harshest punishment...
