The blocking should only affect private messages between SH users. I'm still not sure why it blocks public responses. If there's a problem with public responses, a responsible SH user will flag the post, not block the poster. Unfortunately, those who block, for the most part, are not responsible people.

Oh yeah, and the other funny thing is that you cannot flag their account for abuse after they block you, either.

I do not think blocking should be allowed. If you have the balls to ask questions, you should have the backbone to handle answers. I THOUGHT this is a website FOR opinions, but it has turned into a place where little brats hang out and waste time all day asking ridiculous questions. OH NO, don't you DARE say anything true or that might be something the person doesn't want to hear!!! IF you do, bam - no more "opinions" from YOU! I think, that if someone blocks you, you should be able to at least be able to give them some kind of icon that warns other people "caution: this person blocks opposing opinions".

It's not Sodahead per se. It's the person who posted the question that has blocked you.

Obviously, they couldn't handle dissenting opinions... so you've got to wonder just WHY they're here at a discussion site.

Or perhaps they just don't want to be bothered.

Some people simply aren't here to 'exchange opinions' or engage in intellectual discourse; they're here to talk trash, stir the pot and/or seek attention.

People like that aren't worth the time nor the keystrokes, IMO...
