- TruBluTopaz 2012/06/24 18:04:52NoBut she should eat with her baby's welfare in mind. Tuna and deli meats should be limited. Lots of fresh fruit and veggies. Good lean protein. Caffeine really messes with babies behavior in utero and makes them jumpy which makes it hard for Mom To Be to rest.reply
- PumpkinMuncher 2012/06/24 15:41:58NoThats a myth. And anyways the baby is not the size of a full grown adult so they dont need another meal. They just take their nutrients from what the mother eats. However she probably should eat a little more and be sure to take vitamins.reply
- mustangluver 2012/06/24 15:14:37No+1Because the more weight you gain, the more risk for diabetes. The baby is on a liquid diet..reply
- Anonymouse BN-0 ~bibbityboo~ 2012/06/24 13:35:37YesAn embryo/foetus is growing rapidly, so requires a good food source. They take a lot of nutrients from the mother, so the mother has to eat maybe 1.75x her usual intake of calories and vitamins.reply

- Don Leuty 2012/06/24 08:00:39NoThe trick is to eat enough for the baby to grow and not you. Extra weigh can be a real drag near the end and during delivery, or so the litany went when Mama-san was in the role of jump-master.reply
- Pops 2012/06/24 06:45:23NoThey don't need the calories, but probably more vitamins!reply
- MarinerFH 2012/06/24 04:41:06YesYes, but the right foods. Considering the weights of the baby, placenta and fluid, a gain of 30-40 pounds is normal and healthy.reply
