No, not if its set by the government. The parents should be the one's setting their child's curfew. Some kids are more responsible than others, some have part-time jobs, some might be volunteering, etc.

When my kids were little they had to be in by nine during school days and before dark in the Summer. Even when they were in high school they had to be in bed by eleven.

I don't understand not being allowed to be outside at night. If kids are out at night and then are tired the next day in school, it's their own fault for being out so late. As long as their not running around and yelling just to be annoying. I can understand maybe if the parent wants to keep the kid safe, but government-enforced curfew is just dumb.

When your young your still learning, not only that.. having a curfew maybe a great idea, I still remember when I was younger we all inside our houses at a certain or the police would tell your parents that your child was out way to late.. with children they need to learn self discipline what a better way to learn from your mistakes!

When they turn 18 they are on their own but as long as they are minors they have limits and expectations under their parents roof!!! No need to be out super late anyway!!!

A "curfew" for ANYONE speaks out against some of the most fundamental core values of America...which is being violated right now. A curfew is ridiculous, basically if you are not "old enough" then you are not allowed to be outside past a certain time. Well perhaps I'm just one detrimentally confused individual, but I believe that such things as a "curfew" should be a parent's job of controlling.

This question had nothing to do with the government imposing a curfew on minors...it was a simple question asking whether or not you believed minors should abide by a curfew...I interpreted the questions as if a minor should abide by a PARENTS curfew(yes), not a government curfew.

If that's what the question meant then of course they should abide by a curfew IF their parents impose one. Of course they're going to disobey too, such is childhood. City curfews are ridiculous though.

There is absolutely nothing productive that could be done at say, 10 pm or later (summer vacation could push it down to 11pm) and while a designated curfew isn't going to stop the troublemakers from doing what they do best, it DOES give the law a reason to be aware of kids walking around.

They did that for a while,(i dont know if it was just amarillo or all over tx) but lots of people under age work late sometimes thats the only time to work. Just because a person is under age doesnt mean the are going to do somthing stupid, age doesnt make maturity. Kids under a certain age should be at home anyways, but if young kids are out roaming the streets, where the hell are the parents
