Absolutely legalized.
Think about the revenue it would generate for sales and pleasure taxes.
Think about how some of the reduction of crime. (let's face it, as long as there are hard drugs, there will always be drug dealers.
But the facts of "evil" Marijuana are from the 60's and lets face it... the facts were based on fear and untried science. Fast forward to today, there are Marijuana Clinics springing up all over the country for those who are medicinal users.
I wouldn't mind being a recreational user of marijuana.
Yes - legalize marijuana.
Should marijuana be legalized and sold like alcohol?

Here's some of the research I have found that has led me to believe marijuana should be fully legal:
First of all, the U.S. government has already made an extensively researched case against their own claim that marijuana has no medicinal benefits. You can find proof of this by looking up these patents:
U.S. Patent claiming Cannabinoids can be used as antioxidants and neuroprotectants:
United States Patent: 6630507
U.S. Patent claiming Cannabinoids have anti-inflammatory properties:
United States Patent: 6410588
Those are the two main ones, but if you look further at the related patent links you will find a few more.
So, based on this evidence, marijuana, at the VERY LEAST, should be immediately decriminalized nationwide.
Personally, I believe marijuana should be made legal like valerian root, lavender, garlic and poppies are legal. It is a plant and an amazingly useful healing plant at that. If you care to know more (its absurd if you don't) here is a whole lot of information including scientific studies and real life testimonials:

Cannabis Oil: This is a relatively new cancer treatment and the one we are most excited about. There have been medical studies that have proven that cannabinoids literally destroy cancer cells and many, many success stories. Most people think of marijuana in terms of people smoking it to get high. This is very different. It is made from a very large quantity of cannabis with all of the medicinal parts extracted into a tiny jar of goo. It can be grown an made easily in your wn home. More than any other medicine, I have read many many astonishing tales of cures from this stuff. I encourage you to watch the videos and read the articles below. There are also many studies suggesting that raw cannabis plant, if ingested is a powerful health tonic with benefits ranging from relief of many different chronic pain conditions, anti-cancer, cell regeneration, and immune boost. The plant if taken raw has no psychoactive effects at all, that is, it DOES NOT GET YOU HIGH AT ALL. Cannabis only gets you high if heated or extracted in oil/sugar/alcohol.

Cannabis has also been linked, in recent studies, with lowering the prevalence of and even treating Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, and dementia. In addition to this research, I, personally, have seen skin cancer cured by rubbing cannabis oil into the afflicted area daily. I believe because I have seen it. If you or someone you know has cancer, would you really write off a potential cure/effective treatment for cancer just because you think it sounds ridiculous? People thought it was ridiculous that fluoride could cause mass brain development problems in children and lowered IQ's among populations of people with fluoridated water. This is proven, well researched fact, yet we have been led to believe for more than 70 years that fluoride is harmless and beneficial to the teeth. It has also been illegally added to our water supplies in many, many states. Why is it so hard, then, for people to believe that cannabis could potentially very effectively treat cancer and a multitude of other diseases and that this fact has been effectively hidden from us for years? And why oh WHY do so many people write off the possibility immediately and entirely without even researching it let alone trying it for themselves or for a loved one? Yet, many will without much question, drink coffee daily, smoke cigarettes, take harmful prescription drugs and/or drink themselves silly at least once a month..
It's a wonderful medicine and healthy way to unwind if used correctly. Everyone is different so the effective dosage and strain will vary from person to person depending on their specific body chemistry and what that person is using it for. Just like anything in this world, it's simply not for everyone. Peanuts cause one hundred deaths every year, on average, because people are allergic to them. In a similar yet not deadly way, there are probably some people who react negatively to pot no matter what. My guess is that this is very rare and in most cases it is a problem of dose or strain. The problem arises when people abuse marijuana and intake too much. They burn out natural receptors in their brains and that can cause a whole slew of problems. These same receptors are enhanced and multiplied when dosage is set low and the medicine is far more effective at the lower doses. (Unless we are talking about pain management, which can be different.) Just like with anything in life, if you do it too much, you may become psychologically addicted to it and it will most likely have negative effects on your life. Moderation is key. Food is far more harmful than cannabis if abused. Should we outlaw food?
There are no links available for most peer reviewed articles of scientific studies because they are In published and copyrighted scientific journals, but you can gain access to some of them at a local library or you can go online and purchase them. Here are some names to look up...

legalizing alcohol didn't solve the alcohol problem ,
they just want to tax it !
don't fall for it ,
of course if u use pot your probably to dumb to figure out they just want a piece of the pot profits

You can extract opium from poppy seeds (like the ones on bagels) and yet they are legal.
"The Opium Poppy Control Act of 1942 was repealed on 27 October of the year 1970.[19][20] The seeds themselves contain very small amounts of opiates,[2] and have no measurable narcotic effect. However, the television show MythBusters demonstrated that one could test positive for narcotics after consuming four poppy seed bagels. On the show Brainiac: Science Abuse, subjects tested positive after eating only two poppy seed bagels."
Marijuana is less harmful than the alcohol and cigarettes purchased at any corner gas station. Never mind the mind blowing resource drain in law enforcement. Never mind the families destroyed if caught with even a small amount.
Guess who lobbies against legalization? Private Prison, pharmaceutical, tobacco, alcohol corporations. What is reasonable be damned, apparently.
So, why is it so bad again?
Grows well inside too so they say! In the best of neighborhoods too!
Thats from part from my Alcoholic Mother too...
