humans are no better then the other creatures around us, in the end, we all die, we all hurt, we all breath and we all love, that humans have sense and technology just puts us on a different scale then the rest of the creatures, but in the end, we are just another species, and i believe that in god's eyes all creatures are equal (and if your not religious please dont attack me because of my beliefs)

We may be animals, but we have higher brain functions than other animals, and maybe we should act like it more often. Too bad we also have free will, so that we can pretend that we don't have higher brain functions.

because we are smarter than animals and in this age ''knowledge is power'' but sometimes the mistakes we make put us in the same degree as animals

Higher than the one they have.

Bonobo society has no serious fighting and disputes are settled by negotiation. They have no wars, no rape, no child abuse and a willingness to learn.

    Humans should do as well.

But it's doesn't happen often enough since we keep repeating the same mistakes.

Damn right! Always strive to improve yourself! But don't make that higher standard something impossible, like Perfection or "God". Make achievable goals and once you've achieved one, move on to the next!

We're empathetic, have conductive and deductive reasoning skills, we're self-aware, have the ability to plan for the long-term, and have the ability to remember the past. Given that, we should be able act above our impulses and in the interest of ourselves and the environment.

I agree, but since humans have "sense and technology" don't you think that we also have more responsibity? I mean the bears and dogs and lions aren't polluting the planet. The swans and otters and camels aren't waging war around the world killing innocent people by the thousands. The horses and deer and monkeys aren't conducting experiments on animals and the cows and pigs and chickens aren't genetically modifying foods. If we know more then surely more is required of us. More care of the planet. More compassion for the animals that dwell here. More sense when it comes to food production. What humans are doing to the eco-system is deadly, to all species.

Have you seen the National Geographic special series called Predator and Prey? It paints a somewhat different picture of all the cutesy little animals in your story.
Scientists have long wondered why some predators will "play" with their intended food, leading to a long, drawn out, torturous death. Some don't even eat the prey afterward.

There is also a unique study on Dolphin "gangs" that don't behave like the normal dolphin protectors.
In these gangs, the dolphin alpha males will travel in a larger pack and voyage far outside what would be considered their familial territory. Once they find a lone male dolphin, that might be feeding or scouting, they proceed to corner and bully the dolphin physically and sexually by ramming him and closing in tight while the leader rapes him.
What do you make of that? (I'm dumbfounded personally....)

I never said or intimated that the animal kingdom is always peaceable. Orcas also seem especially cruel when hunting seals. My point is that the animal kingdom is not destroying the planet and humans are. If we have more "sense" and "intelligence" then we also have more responsibility. Nothing about nature is "cutesy" and I have never claimed that it is. I apologize if I gave that impression.

to reply to everyone, i wasnt saying we shouldnt try to better ourselves. its just this idea that humans are the best and are above all other creatures is the cause ofmany things thatwe do to screw up the planet, i mean we kill a forest and endanger species because they no longer have homes so that we can build a few tables and chairs? THATS what im talking about. yea we should better ourselves, but we should always remain humble and realise that other creatures are important too...

Yes we of the human race should, But people Bring down others with means of abuse and other ways such a Physical or mental harm which would make them feel sad and some what lesser human depending on the reason of their sadness.
But If Humans hold them self up to high that would be Dangerous such like people who tend to genetically manipulate animals, They try to play as gods or such.
We humans should never assume any position we are not fit for, Their are people who think to highly of their self and tend to look down on others, if we humans were to hold ourselves in a higher standard we would need more time so that we could gradually reach a higher thinking of our selves.
