Should "date rape" be a lower offense than rape?

This is Double cross by the Girl as she wanted it & just because she feels as the sex went agains't her will, she call it a Rape. You can take all men for a ride. If this is Rape.

Being familiar (to some degree or another) with a person doesn't give a person the right to rape. That's like asking if date murder should be a lower offense than murder. Rape is rape, murder is murder.

Just because I know the person, doesn't make it any less horrifying if they rape me. The term "date rape" is just a way to differentiate between rape by stranger and rape by friend.

Do you honestly think a woman who was been violently and forcefully violated by a stranger waks up in a hospital bed and thinks what happened to her is in a par with a 14 year old girl having consensual sex with her 18 year old boyfriend thinks Rape is rape?

Do you think a woman who was drugged and had her ability to say no stripped away from her considers her situation to be the same as a woman whose boyfriend keeps pushing after hearing no until he manages to get a reluctant yes the same thing?

It's not. Sorry but I am sick and tired of hearing women yelling rape because they changed their mind, got caught in a compromising situation or suffer from bad judgement because in the end those things will ultimately make it harder for women to prove rape.

Additionally, I'm in favor of rape being a capital crime. When a person shows the utter contempt for humanity demonstrated in a rape, it's better for the body politic if they just go away.

If the person says no (or is unable to say yes), it's rape. You can dress it up any way you like, but that's all there is to it.

I think that date rape should work both ways, though. Everyone wants equality, so I say we be equal with that as well. And before people jump up and say "It's not the same" - a guy can unwillingly have a natural reaction that facilitates sex (an erection) the same way a female might get wet even during unwanted groping. I get sick of people wanting gender equality and then insisting a woman can't rape a man.
