It would be the main event of 2013. New Jersey has two of the most talented, high-profile young politicians in the country -- Gov. Chris Christie and Newark Mayor Cory Booker -- and they may be on a collision course.

One is the brash, tough-talking, union-challenging Republican governor with sky-high approval ratings in a blue state. The other is the vegetarian do-gooder mayor who shovels snow on request from Twitter, undertook a "food stamp challenge" to raise awareness about hunger and once ran into a burning building to save a neighbor.

Hell yes!!! Lets all stand solidly behind our Black Oppressed brothers and sisters and put Blacks in place as mayors and governors in all the states. We put Obama in office. Now lets put blacks in the rest of the offices. Remember, we have the Power. Power to the people man. With and all black power base we can then bring back slavery. Whites need ot be put under the thumb of the black man as we are entitled to payback the white man for his abuses of power and his sordid deeds his great great grandad did to my great great grandad. I say take over America and make it truely represent the black Majority.

We here in Jersey do NOT need a return to the Corzzine or Florio years; our property taxes are already the highest in the nation. Let Booker rot in that crap hole Newark where he belongs.

Love Christie, Love Booker - they both speak plainly even when what they say isn't what you'd want to hear. N.J. deserves the best - it should have them both.

He's not going to win against Christie. Christie is a popular governor who isn't a crazy person. He's better off either waiting or running for the senate position.

Yes - I was once stopped at stop light in Newark, next to an old school building with a broken down chain link fence, waist high grass, broken glass panes in many windows, wondering why they didn't have signs warning people to keep out. Just then the school bell rang and dozens of kids came spilling out. Level playing field? Really? I think he should go where he can have the most impact. To congress - and get N.J. all the money she needs to rebuild not just her shores, but her schools.

Politicians have feet of clay. Feel the same way about John McCain. What happened to the John McCain that once said of the 'Bush tax cuts' that it was un-American to talk about a tax cut when we are in the middle of a war (Iraq#2). We are still in the middle of a war now. Our national debt has skyrocketed because of a decade of two wars. Further - no body says it but we've literally borrowed money to pay for the Bush Tax cuts. Shameful - my old John McCain doesn't exist anymore.

Christie and Booker are known to actually be quite good friends. Cory Booker should do whatever is in his heart, Politics shouldn't be about playing the safe game. Mr. Christie and Mr. Booker are both two great men of conviction and character and I have no doubt that an election between them would be the least negative, most honest and most issues-based campaign ever.

Christie and booker are not friends, in fact they are sworn enemies. They grew up in the same town, and in middle school booker stole Christie's cookies, and you don't touch Christie's cookies. When Christie called him on it, booker called him a racist. Can't accuse a brother, even when he's guilty. Love me a "chocolate city"... As long as its nowhere near my city.
