Should "common sense" be changed to "uncommon sense"?

    You are right, Jan. Something we took for granted years ago-"good old fashioned sense"-is now becoming rather rarer than the proverbial hens' teeth....!! as scarce as hens teeth

    I think people are overly pessimistic about the status of common sense. There are probably a lot less genuinely stupid, completely gullible, ignorant people than everyone assumes there to be.
