Let me qualify that. It depends on the type of work. I worked while expecting with all three of my kids, at least part time. But I was doing writing and graphic design. I wasn't cleaning houses or mowing lawns or building houses. Doctors are generally pretty specific on what women can and cannot do while pregnant.
That would depend on the work. In the lab automatic restrictions cut in when a woman was pregnant to keep her from being exposed to bad chemicals etc. But they still worked!
Not TOO much. I worked a forty hour work week until my first child was born. I was tired sometimes -- I listened to my body. When it needed rest, I rested.
I say if she feels up to working go for it! I worked until my very last day when I went into labor that night. It was good for me to work. Kept me busy and in good shape. Was fun for me.
Hmm ..
I was Active Military while pregnant ..
worked on Duty status right until I went into labor too ..
(for both my children)
within 4 weeks of their births ..
I was already back in shape and doing duty status too ..
(obviously .. if mom and baby is healthy .. there's no limit to the activities a woman who is pregnant can do .. she can fully live her life)
Pregnancy is not a disease and should not be treated as such. Now she should check with her doctor if going running in a marathon or trying to raise a roof but she should be active, work, clean house, etc. - all the stuff she normally does.
