I used to think that there was a modicum of skill and sense to one of these Stock Car races. This is the dumbest thing ever devised to make a whole lot of money for a very few involved in this insanity ! Think about it. You drive an internal combusion engline with over 500 HP about 200 plus mph around a oval track going left the entire elapsed time. It is dangerous and the spectators really want the drivers to have a spectacular crash or be killed ? The whole race is really morbid. Who thinks this is not a waste of fuel, time and money ? I cannot see it.

To each his own. I enjoy the strategy, as well as the danger.

agreed. Without strategy, it doesn't matter how good a driver you are, you're not gonna be out front at the end.
