Sheriff Joe Arpaio Arrests 6 Year Old

On the same day that President Obama announced
a policy that will make it easier for young undocumented immigrants to
remain in the United States, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio's office
arrested a 6-year-old girl suspected of coming to America illegally.

The Arizona Republic reports
that the girl was with 15 other suspected undocumented immigrants who
were traveling to the Midwest and northeast United States, according to
Chris Hegstrom, spokesman for the Sheriff's Office.

"She's been turned over to ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement)
to try to determine where she's from. She told us she's from El
Salvador. That's what she told us," Hegstrom said.

KPHO reports that all the suspects paid between $300 and $3,500 to be illegally smuggled into the U.S., according to the Sheriff's office.

The arrests came Friday night, the same day that Obama announced his administration would not deport young undocumented immigrants under certain circumstance

Your title is somewhat misleading. He arrested a GROUP of illegals, of which the 6 year old was a part, probably including her parents.

I have no problem with this. Send them back immediately.

During that time, the town had signed a contract to pay the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office $3.6 million for police services. But Sheriff Joe Arpaio didn't use the money to bolster his sex-crimes unit. Instead, the publicity-hungry sheriff's focus, as always, was on political witch hunts and pet projects that got his name in lights.

She was in violation of the law. It was his duty to arrest her.

And I wish some on SH would understand that people who enter the country illegally are criminals, not imigrants. That also applies to the "Constitutional scholar" in the White House.

You make it sound like he was walking the streets and saw a 6 year old with illegal candy or something.

Sheesh, no wonder we have problems, when we have misleading titles like this.

This poor kid was with a group of ILLEGAL aliens. Sherrif Joe stopped the whole group, and held them. They will be sent back to where they came from, and are welcome to try to come to the U.S. LEGALLY, like my grandparents did. If my grandpappy did it, so can they.

She was part of a group of criminals and he arrested all of them, not just the girl.

Please allow me to shed some light on this case, and clear up any misconception that the Sheriff “arrested” the girl.

As a Law Enforcement Officer, I can tell you that there is a difference between placed under arrest, being placed in custody. Most Civilians, and almost all of the media uses arrest for every incident.

The Deputies who discovered the human trafficking operation, brought the child to the Office, not under arrest, but in Custody for her own safety and protection.

“ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations worked closely over the weekend with the Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Refugee Resettlement to provide for the timely and safe transfer of an unaccompanied juvenile girl who was part of a human smuggling load encountered Friday by the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office,” said Amber Cargile, a spokeswoman for ICE.

Each of those taken into custody is believed to have paid between $300 and $3,500 to be smuggled into the country. The people in the van were believed to be on traveling to a handful of states, including California, Connecticut and New York.

In other words, if it were not for the action of those Deputies, that young 6 year old child could have ended up being sexually abused by some pervert in god knows where.
