I don't like sharing food, I will just get some extra food if I think someone else would want some.

But I hate it. It's out of politeness, but I hate sharing saliva, so people have to use clean cutlery or else they can't have any. I don't share ice-cream unless I absolutely have to, because I'd be licking something covered in their saliva >.< It's all very disgusting to me. I wouldn't ask for someone else's food, either.

This is generally not an option to a mother of half dozen children. They see it,, they eat it, regardless if it is on your lap, in your hand. half way in your mouth, etc...

There is no '2 second rule ' in my house. It is more of a 'who gets it first' rule lol

The micro biologists say a one micro second rule anyway. Hey kids a sturdy and strong. If they don't like it, they spit it out. Aren't they adorable though? Wait until they are gone; your heart will break. I'm not crying, sniff sniff.

Depends on what you mean by sharing. At the show I'll buy myself a popcorn and one for my friend. I like to have my own bag and not have someone else's hand in there every time I want to reach in for a handful, it's annoying, besides disgusting having their saliva dipped fingertips in there. I'll spring for them to have their very own bag. If we go out for dinner I'll spring for the bill. I'll have someone over for dinner and share my food. BUT.....when it comes to someone picking off my plate or putting their mouth on my cup or bottle, or licking my icecream cone.....FORGET IT. I don't like other people's fingers or saliva in my food, I like them to eat and drink their own. So no, I won't share what's on my plate.

I share food every day, plus cook for everyone in our house 3-4 days a week...My hubby and I split the cooking duties--he's a great cook. I've never seen an ice cream cone split in half like that--ever!

Only if it is something which directly touches my mouth. For example, I wouldn't share a sandwich or water bottle for the mere reason it's not humanitary. But something like chips, or stick fingers, why not.
My rules don't work though in emregencies - like when I and someone else are dying from hunger, then of course I'd share if I had some sandwich for example.

Funny, but a recent scientific study reveals that what distinguishes us from "animals" is that we DO share our food, and not only among family members.

I specifically mentioned non family sharing.your pictures are all within the same family.your pre conceived notions blind you.
  • Tunnel ... Michael 2012/09/16 14:17:37

What notions do you refer to? I shared pictures of animals sharing food. I didn't "say" a word. Your readiness to be on the defensive tells me everything I need to know about you.

Since you replied to me by name, with the photos, I rightly thought you were challenging my comment and that you didn't realize that your photos made my point and you didn't notice the photos of the animals were each of siblings sharing, moms and offsprings sharing, and a human sharing with other than their own family! Where is my defensiveness in replying to you and not ignoring your posting, which you posted without saying anything to clarify?
