Sea Monkeys... most precious thing ever?

Robin 2012/09/22 20:21:53

When I was a kid,
I would have done anything,
and I mean ANYTHING, if my parents
had gotten me Sea Monkeys.
I begged and pleaded.. NO!
I saw those happy little
critters and wanted them bad.
Finally, save up my own money, bought them....
they made me take them back.
I got sneaky and tried ordering
them by mail.
They never came.
What did you want as a kid that
you never got?

sea
You!

I'm sorry to tell you this Robin but Sea Monkeys are just brine shrimp. They don't have smiley faces and they don't wear crowns.

This is a brine shrimp though grossly out of scale. They are actually quite tiny. brine shrimp

BY the way, those X-ray glasses don't work either.

I always wanted all that stuff from the back of comic books too. My parents would never let me get any of it either.

Get your kids a Chia Pet. They're pretty inexpensive and they actually work. :-)

Tell me, were they as happy as they looked? Smiling down at me, taunting me with their smiles because they seemed to know my dad "worked too gd hard yadayadada to waste good money... yadadadadada" he was tuned out.. all heard was NO, lol. He also walked 123 miles one way to school, in snow and barefeet to school carrying a baked potato in his pocket so his hands wouldn't freeze, and that was also his lunch, and yes indeed. The snow was 7 foot deep. P.s. when I asked my grandma about this, she told me he walked to school, indeed. and it was only half mile away, and he always had shoes, gloves, etc.. and when it was bad, school was cancelled Just like now.Wonder where m y story telling comes from.

You can buy "sea monkeys" (brine shrimp) in any aquarium supply store, much cheaper. I believe that you will be slightly disappointed. I always wanted a guitar but I guess that my parents thought that it would have put me on the highway to hell.

My cheapskate dad, gave me 2 dollars at a fair once.. like what am I going to do with that? Well, I spied it..a bike and it was a cool one too. It was 1st prize in raffle. So, I 'wasted' per him. my 2 bucks on 5 raffle tickets. Did not win the bike. Not suprised. Luck is not my friend. Good luck anyway... but I did win 2nd prize. He never would have known but they announced my name over the intercom.. 2nd prize was one full year of free (wait for it....) of accordian lessons. And... as my punishment, I had to take them. Yep. But I didn't have an accodiian. So, he worked something out with the guy at the music store and I had to buy one on time. I was 12 friggin' years old. Every cent I made babysitting, etc.. went to that goddammn accordian. Missed a payment ONCE, they called and of course, he answered the phoine.. for another day lol

An accordian, placed into the hands of anyone, instantly renders them 'the most unpopular kid in school... GET HER!"
