You may be asking yourself: what does one do with thousands upon thousands of rubber flip flops? The answer? Build an awesome sculpture of course! Well, that's what Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman did at least.
With the help of local artists and students, Hofman created a 45-foot-long sculpture of a monkey...covered completely in 10,000 colorful flip flops. Called "Macaco Gordo" (or "The Fat Monkey" in English), the humongous piece of art is currently chilling at a park in Sao Paolo, Brazil.

The unique piece of art is definitely awesome, don't get us wrong. But we can't help but think that we could actually use a pair (or 10,000) of flip-flips...for our feet...to actually wear. Ours are getting pretty old. Do you think the flip-flop sculpture is wonderful -- or a little wasteful?

And I think if people are so worried about those people and poor little kids who don't have shoes...how about giving up some of YOUR collection of shoes (or at least the money you shelled out for them) and buy some for them with YOUR money? Didn't think you were that giving...but if it's someone else...of course they should be!
