A leading researcher in the field, once dubbed it the “goddamn” particle, because it has proved so hard to isolate. That name was changed by a editor to the “God” particle, and has ended up in my view confusing many people.

These two actually have no debate, creationism talks about the magical origins of the universe and how nothing evolves over time, Darwin's theory of evolution talks about how things change over time after they were created.

Science can only tell you something that can be tested....

The presence of a God cannot be proven or dis-proven. Because it is untestable.

This is why no faithful person can ever say that their god is the only true one, since none of the previous gods discussed in mythology have ever been proven or dis proven either. It's a wonderful circle or ignorance.

But it goes both ways. You can't prove that their isn't a God. You can't prove their is one. It's all a matter of faith and different ways of knowing.

It's more than likely that everyone can't be right about the various gods they experience, talk to, and have been saved by. So, as a matter of faith, I'm sure that somebody is wrong or just making it all up.

The question is who and how many faiths are based on gods that are not there.

It doesn't go both ways. If I were to claim that a teapot was orbiting the Sun somewhere in space between the Earth and Mars, it would be nonsensical for me to expect you to believe me, on the grounds that you couldn't prove me wrong. That's why the burden of proof is on the one claiming the existence of something.

But, are they talking about the Higgs Boson particle? If yes, then exciting things are coming - but then again, that's always been true of technology and innovation. The ever retreating horizon is always our limit - isn't it a cool time to be alive!
