Sanford Police Dept. no Stranger to Coverups

How many of you knew that the Sanford Police Department has covered up investigations before? The son of former Sanford Police Lt. Collison's assaulted a black homeless man, who was trying to break up a fight outside of a bar. Collison's son could be seen on surveillance tape punching the man, knocking him out, then walking away and punching another man.

The police responded to an eyewitness's call, but never arrested him, and covered the event up. It wasn't until the video was posted on youtube, did the Lt's son turn himself in after a warrant was finally issued. Chief Tooley, the former Chief also received a no confidence vote and was forced to retire as a result. The new police chief has only been with the department for approximately 8 months now. I would say the community has grounds for concern in regard to their police department and it's treatment of minorities.
