Careerwise, yes, but not in life. You can't buy love, you can't buy good parenting skills, you can't buy friendship, and you can't buy happiness. Many will agree, these things are what's most important in life. You may be able to start whatever you want, but without a little natural talent, you'll lose it pretty quick.
But, the more money your family has, the less barriers you have to contend with in achieving the American dream. Class movement in this country is nearly non-existent for very real reasons. Born rich, will probably end rich. Born poor, will probably remain poor. But, this is common sense. If you make it harder for one group of people to do something, less of them will do it (higher education, for example). We are FAR from an equal opportunity country.
Yeah they simply have far more options to do anything. They don't have to earn a living for a start which for everybody constarainds your degrees of freedom.
