How about instead of taking pictures, work towards rescue efforts. Was this sweet dog rescued? Animals are the best! The sweet, loving little souls want to be our true and loyal friends.

My first tactic would be to put the ladder under the water in front of him instead of hitting him in the head with it.

the person was trying to help. that ladder was put there by someone who was trying to give the dog something to grip onto to get out of the ice

he was saved, a neighbor tried to help him out with the ladder but when that didnt work firemen got there and saved him.
