Have you ever had the holes close over? My aunty had to get her ears pierced four times because if she took out the earrings for even a short time, the holes closed over. I, on the other hand, go for months without wearing any earrings and I've never had a problem.

but I left mine out a while because I had an infection so they closed up after a couple months. Now that ive kept studs in for a year without taking them out except for a few hours, they dont close. I have left them out for 2 months before.

I can go for months without wearing mine. Sometimes it'll just be beginning to close and I'll have to force it at the end through a tiny layer. But they've never closed on me.

I have had a problem with my left ear for years. I get infections in it easy, and it was a pain in the ass to pierce. My right ear, only ever pierced once, never had an issue.

Good point, mine have narrowed, so I can only use drop earrings with the thin back....can't get sleepers in there because they are too thick.

I've had that happen before. Only, I had left my earrings out for a whole week and they were just beginning to seal over. I just poked an earring hook through them, the pain was minimal but they're fine now.
I think it all depends on how fast an individual heals. If they're a quick healer the holes will close more quickly. It's nothing to worry about, I usually just put studs in a couple times a week to be sure the holes are permanent.

My limit is about four or five days. After that, it's a massive struggle to get the earring back in.

You have to wear the earing consistantly for a while you need to let the hole heal (which is what they advise you to do) some people heal faster than others. I left my stud in for approximately three years without taking it leaving it out once, taking it out only to clean and then replace. Suffice to say, the hole is open and sealed open.

True, I think I left mine in for the recommended amount of time, and I was so terrified to take it out the first time :P Ahh long time ago.
