I like both, funny thing is 2 days ago I made a pie from a recipe I saw in the paper. It is supposed to be an old recipe (like 100 yr old.) anyway, it was pumpkin and apples layered. You mixed the sugar and spices, layered the pumpkin then apple then sugar mixture. I ended up with several layers, topped with the last of the sugar and dotted with butter and put on top crust - It was yummy!

I make pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving every year. From scratch. I cut the skin off the pumpkin rind, boil the rind, and mash it before mixing it with the other ingredients. Lately, it has been difficult to get pumpkins after Halloween, so I have been making pumpkin pies with butternut squash. They taste delicious, but I guess technically the pies I have been making are squash pies!

rhubarb pies are delicious.
Very hard to find someplace that makes them, even harder to actually make them from scratch as rhubarb is hard to find sometimes.
