Most of the time, when we get a knock on the door and open it to a stranger asking for money, we're not exactly excited. But when the Girl Scouts come knocking with their legendary cookie collections, it's a whole different story. They're so good that some of the variations have continued for 50 years, though the names and recipes have evolved. To celebrate the introduction of the Girl Scouts' newest cookie, Savannah Smiles, Good Morning America polled more than 25,000 people on the five most popular cookies.
What’s Your Favorite Girl Scout Cookie?

Thin Mints by a Wide Margin
Results show that Thin Mints, the Girl Scouts' oldest and most successful cookies, are still on top. Based on a 2009 report from Girl Scouts of the USA, Thin Mints make up approximately 25% of their cookie sales -- more than any other variety. Their first incarnation was in 1951, and they've been top sellers ever since. You can eat them straight out of the box, crumble them over some ice cream, or freeze them like a York Peppermint Patty. Talk about a versatile cookie! One commenter recalled, "I once wrote a poem about the horror of finishing a box of thin mints." We feel your pain.

Everyone Loves Thin Mints!

We'll be honest, Thin Mints dominated just about every demographic. Men love them, women love them, conservatives love them, liberals love them... But there were some minor variations. For instance, women were 4% more likely to pick Samoas as their favorite, while men invested a little more into Thin Mints and Do-si-dos.
Atheists Are Way Into Samoas

One of the few demographics with a significantly different outlook on this oh-so-controversial topic is atheists. Based on our results, atheists are split between Thin Mints and Samoas, with 40% preferring each. Christians were almost twice as likely to dig the Thin Mints.
Savannah Smiles Sneak Peek

You can't get excited for this year's new addition without a little info! Savannah Smiles are a lemon-flavored half-moon cookie named after the city in Georgia, where Juliette Gordon Low founded the Girl Scouts in 1912. Pre-orders begin on January 27, and sales will begin on February 24.
