Personally, I would only buy an automatic in .22, 9mm, .40, or .45 caliber. In a revolver, .22, .38 Special, .357 Magnum, .45 Long Colt, or .44 magnum. I would only have a weapon that used a commonly available round. .50 caliber and other odd calibers are for people that just want bragging rights.



The illustration you posted looks like it is based on that old British PoS service revolver that is usually rechambered for .45 ACP with half-moon clips. I wouldn't have one, even if the barrel pointed down-range.



Personally, as a liberal, I think that all sanctions for "class D" felonies should be dismissed after ten years of staying out of trouble. So far, the only relief anyone is seeking is for voting rights, but I don't see why a 50 year old man that got into a brawl when he was 18 cannot legally own a firearm. In some ways, our laws are more restrictive than those in Germany.
