not really a nightmare but he definitely was not a fast learner. lol I did everything by the book, praised him, helped him and after a long time he finally got it. I was so proud. :)
Our kids and their kids and were potty trained by the time they turned two.We made it a routine to take them or ask them if they needed to go.We started this when they turned one.
Go ahead .. I'll try to answer as much as I can .. it took some time and patience .. and there were times where my Autistic Child also /forgot/ and had to relearn too ..
I've never dug so hard for creative ways to get my daughter to go for it. The biggest problem was that she was afraid of toilets. To this day, she still freaks out at those industrial flushing toilets.
It's tough, isn't it! I'm not a parenting book kind of person--then or now--but I was willing to try any crazy idea people threw at me. It finally happened when she was about 3 1/2. #2's were the biggest challenge!
From what I recall it went fairly easy for my Two Boys, the older one seemed to have the most trouble, he actually was afraid of the commode, but he finally warmed up to the idea when he knew Mom and Dad used it without being attacked by the stool.
