Just when you thought there was a break from all those weird food trends, like including cookies in the same box as frozen pizza or deep frying some butter-on-a-stick, now we have to get used to something else that's completely cutting edge as far as nom noms go: scoopable chicken. Specifically, Popeye's Dip'n Chick'n.

We know what you're thinking: can't you already dip your chicken in whatever sauce you want? And the answer to that is, of course. But it's never been as convenient as this here new item. Popeye's limited edition Dip'n Chick'n resembles a spoon or any other indented item ideal for scooping.

The idea is, it's much easier to scoop as much sauce onto the fried chicken you're about to devour if it's got a pocket for your dip. And, of course, it comes with twice as much sauce for your dipping pleasure (that's Blackened Ranch dip, if you want to know.)

We truly can't decide whether this new food item is awesome or awful -- so we'll let you guys be the judge of that. Does Popeye's Dip'n Chick'n get a pass from you?

To quote my girlfriend "NOOOOO!!! I'm a fat girl and that's a terrible idea! NOOOO!!!" and "They've, essentially given them a spoon, a DEEP-FRIED SPOON, to eat ranch dressing like soup!"

Do you really need to drown the taste of chicken in some chemical fluid? Just drink the pure fluid then, christ.
Forget what I said, considering what they need to do to form it into that shape, the "chicken" is probably a factory substance, too.

you're right about the fat and cholesterol chemicals inherent in garbage like this.. nevermind there is a direct correlation between fat molecules, cholesterol and Alzheimers disease formed by amyloids on the brain and high blood pressure. The fast food industry is making a killing on legally killing a whole nation.

that is exactly why 60% of Americans are obese because no one thinks there is anything wrong...this is fried batter and chicken bits dipped into fat...it its horrifically fattening and bad for you

I'm pretty sure they aren't putting a gun to anyone's head and telling them "dip it or die" You have every right in the world to walk right past the place. Does the term Personal Responsibility have any meaning to anybody, anywhere, anymore ?

you are 100% right and this is the issue - it kills you slowly - people don't even know they are making bad choices - its just dipping chicken in ranch sauce -right?.... The end result is obesity diabetes etc etc, it costs people their heath, it causes huge financial burden on the country in medical care - our nations obesity rate has skyrocketed over the past 25 years - it is a national disgrace....and fried chicken and ranch sauce isnt even the leading culprit - its the "big gulp" soda drinking phenomenon

America is a country of decadence, why does something like this surprise you? We pride ourselves on stuff like dippin' chicken. You don't hear anyone complaining about the twinkie or the jelly filled doughnut. "You're stuffing sugar into more sugar?! That's ridiculous!" Those concepts are much more extreme than shaping chicken like spoons.
