I love Queen's music (so Mercury is awesome!). Johnny Cash is unique and an enigma because he is far beyond his genre. Buddy is classic old school but not neccessarily my taste. Joel is gifted. Wonder is a standard stylisticaly wise. Denver has some good songs. Elvis was a good performer and had an okay voice and some nice songs. Marvin was cool. Springsteen is sooo overrated. Clapton is overrated but influencial for the 70's. Taylor is a great songwriter. Elton has good early songs but is overrated. I can't stand Diamond. So of these it's Mercury for me.

For my taste in music he blows the others away. Not the very best but right up there with the best ever.

Nah, people were playing the blues before Elvis was even born. That was the birth of rock. Elvis was just a part of rock's evolution.

It was either white country or black blues not rock.

Blues is the beginning of rock and permeates through all of rock music. I've been rocking on the drums for 43 years; you will never convince me otherwise.

The blues is way older than you are & started with black musicians.

No kidding. I'm not predjudice or discrimanatory. The black man invented rock.

I've been playing music and reading/hearing the history of rock for all of my life. I am absolutely sure that the blues was the begining of rock. You sure are argumentative.
