Why not, I'm all for it ! There's just as good a chance meeting someone online as
you would on the street. I've met a lot of special men here on SH and if it were possible
to meet them I would date one or two of them. There are a lot of people who have met their soulmate and have gotten married after becoming good friends online.
If it's mean to be it will be. You can't fight destiny. XD

If you are talking about those online dating sites, biggest waste of time and money! You're basically just prostituting yourself in a pool of hundreds of desperate guys, a few... women... if you can call many of them that, and bots disguised as women. You're more likely to find a date by going to your local seedy motel and knocking on random doors!

But meeting someone on a social website and connecting with them that way, and maybe starting a long-distance relationship or meeting in person is a great way to go! That's how I met my exwife! I call her my exwife, but she is still my best friend, but we didn't mesh as lovers... That's one downfall of meeting people online...
But she has since found a new man, right here on SH even! I'm... still looking... Heh...

For me it's a definitive no I equate it to perusing people as one does books on Amazon.May have good cover art an interesting preface..but most never live up to them hype.As a woman it baffles me having the need nor desire.But I don't knock those who choose to try people on...and you can always have a date there's plenty of sites out there.

I'm on okaycupid. NO I will not tell you my username.

It's sort of amusing and if I get one date out of it it's worth it. Online dating is good for people who are honest and a bit shy in real life. The bad thing being, of course that there are just as many nutjobs and creepers as there are in real life.

If I meet a girl I like I can invision going to get a cup of coffee and getting to know her better.

I've had a ton of really good online dates, met some really cool people most of which I am still friends with and 2 of them I almost married, at different times in my life of course. Right now the Best Man from my wedding is courting a girl he just met online. I am SO HAPPY for them.

It is no different than just texting how boring how non involved is that. Meet someone face to face, have a cup of something and talk. Get to know one another. Never mind a lame computer it is great for data not dates.

I sure am no expert being married for 42 years I don't have much of a clue how folks date these days. I just find it very clinical and not very romantic but if they hook up and are happy that's all that counts.

How does one "date" on line? The whole premises of dating is that you meet each other face-to-face and physicallty go somewhere together. How is this accomplished in cyberspace?
