For those that don't know him, Major General Peter Cosgrove is an Australian treasure!!
Read his reply to the lady who interviewed him concerning guns and children.
Regardless of how your feel about gun laws you gotta love this! Tis is one of the best comeback lines of all time.
It is a portion of an ABC radio interview between a female broadcaster and General Cosgrove who was about to sponsor a Boy Scout Troop visiting his military Headquarters.
Female interviewer:
So, General Cosgrove, what things are you going to teach these young boys when they visit your base?
General Cosgrove:
We're going to teach them climbing, canoeing, archery and shooting.
Female interviewer:
Shooting! That's a bit irresponsible, isn't it?
General Cosgrove:
I don't see why, they'll be properly supervised on the rifle range.
Female interviewer:
Don't you admit that this is a terribly dangerous activity to be teaching children?
General Cosgrove:
I don't see how. We will be teaching them proper rifle discipline before they even touch a firearm.
Female interviewer:
But you're equipping them to become violent killers.
General Cosgrove:
Well Ma'am, you're equipped to be a prostitute, but you're not one are you?
The radio cast went silent for 46 seconds and when it returned, the interview was over.

It also isn't even logical.
I think the lady is a goof, but this retort makes no sense.
In one case there is physical training of a sort and in the other case there is a body part.
To suggest that just because a woman has a vagina she is "equipped" to be a prostitute is poor taste and it also dismisses the fact that there are male prostitutes.
If you didn't like that one, you'd detest what Churchill said to Lady Astor.....
I came back here after I got out, it's a great area. The folk are great (mostly retired Air Force in my neighborhood, I live about a mile from the end of the runway - bought this house for just that reason, I love watching the B-52s and the A-10s), the food's great, 5 lakes all within a half-hour drive, about a mile and a half to the Red River and a boat launch, deer and hog hunting, I love it.
It never happened. Sorry.
General Cosgrove is a treasure for all those who live by common sense and common decency. Great Post bman.
