Once again Google doesn't give America credit. Today Apollo 11 landed on the moon. Google honors Gregor Mendel's birthday instead.

Not to diminish Gregor Mendel as being the founder of the new science of genetics, but when will Google give America recognition for something uniquely significant or special to the United States... like being the first to put man on the moon. I don't consider Google's July 4th logo a true recognition. The American flag was nowhere on the logo. A rainbow and a horse wearing a cowboy hat doesn't do it for me. In contrast, for Bastille Day, France's independence day, the French flag was displayed.

Google is a mouth piece for Obama. Obama wants to drop that Apollo Space mission topic as he knows how most Americans feel about him doing away with the program.

Google is a left wing propaganda information site. I discovered this several years ago, and have not used it for any of my searches for real information. Unfortunately, SH uses it as their default search for adding media....

I agree - that was a bit of a Google faux pas. However, perhaps a small amount of recognition also for people like Wernher von Braun, a Nazi rocket scientist granted 'asylum' in the US in return for advanced rocket technology gained during the development of the V2 missile - a missile that was responsible for the deaths of thousands of British civilians in WW2.
