Once again Google doesn't give America credit. Today Apollo 11 landed on the moon. Google honors Gregor Mendel's birthday instead.

Not to diminish Gregor Mendel as being the founder of the new science of genetics, but when will Google give America recognition for something uniquely significant or special to the United States... like being the first to put man on the moon. I don't consider Google's July 4th logo a true recognition. The American flag was nowhere on the logo. A rainbow and a horse wearing a cowboy hat doesn't do it for me. In contrast, for Bastille Day, France's independence day, the French flag was displayed.
