Now that would be a bummer of a birthday present. lol
Not likely the world will end anytime soon but it could happen. Yellowstone going off, being hit with a meteor like what happened to Jupiter not too long ago, or a gamma radiation blast would make life very difficult on this planet. But fortunately those odds are pretty low in probability.

I believe 12/21/12 is just the end and beginning of a new cycle. I believe the Mayan calendar is based on the path of the earth, sun, solar system, through the galactic plane. takes something like 5,000 or so years to do it. It is like beginning a new calendar on Jan. 1.

No, not really. We've got problems on this ole earth but I don't want the world to end or anything. And besides I've read in the Bible that it states that no man can predict the end of time on this earth. So yes, bring it on. If it ends then we will be in paradise and if not then the folks that keep saying the world will end will be laughed at.
