Ingenious, many things have more than one practical application. Are they steaming the buns too?

Necessity is the mother of invention. Someone bought a package of hot dogs as well as the rolls for lunch in the office. The only equipment in the kitchen is a drip coffee maker. So the coffee urn would serve as a pot to boil all the hot dogs and share them with the office mates and the top of the machine will act as a roll warmer. Hope that person did not forget to get some relish and mustard. Chow down.

What about the taste lingering and hurting the coffee? You should never harm coffee!

The hot dogs stay in the glass urn. Wash it with soap and water, there'll be no lingering odor. The coffee basket where you put the coffee stays pure since the hot dogs did not touch it. The part where you put water to brew the coffee is also untouched. The subsequent brewing of coffee with the clean parts will be normal and the coffee, of course, will be as good as ever or before. No harm done.

Oh, is it glass and you can wash it with soap and water??
If the hot dog cook wants to do that every time, fine.
I have not worked in an office for years and I do not think I know anyone that eats hot dogs, regularly, at least, but I might buy the office hot doggers their own pot, if they wanted to cook them that way. It is a clever idea, even if it is a little gross.

I like hot dogs and I bet many office staff will too. Let's just find the employer willing to do this. Then we can discuss on SodaHead.

I think it's a neat idea and something for dorm rooms to ponder on - I've seen people make ramen in them, haven't though of hot dogs though. I don't see the harm, the hot dogs are only soaking in the pot itself - so the 'flavor' would be confined to that area.
