What in God's name are you talking about? The Romney Ryan "plan" destroys Medicare as we know it, would throw up to 30 million people out of health insurance coverage, would reopen the "donut hole" that the President closed, would cost the average family at least an additional $6,000 a year in health care costs, and includes the same $700 billion in cost savings that the Right Wing has been lying about and calling a "theft". That money is not a "raid on Medicare", it is savings produced by eliminating inefficiency and duplication of services and adjusting future projections to a more realistic timeline. Not ONE DOLLAR in benefits is cut for anyone.

[And I'm especially perplexed by your remark about the Military, considering that it is the Republicans who have consistently tried to cut veterans' benefits, and it is the Republicans who lie them into a war and send them off without the equipment they need to stay alive. President Obama ended the war in Iraq and avoided a war in Libya. I too am a senior...barry thinks he can pull if off again, but he's so blind, he can't see it...we will win in November, and he will be packing his bags.

it is.....I just can't understand why people still support this man who put this country in such deep debt...If we don't get him out, the future is very bleak..it will take a generation or more to correct all the damage he has done.

If we are at a point where it can still be reversed. Grandson graduates high school this year, granddaughter in 10th grade - I don't see much on the horizon for either one of them.

First of all, what the hell is this doing in the Fun and Humor Section? Secondly, your claim that Ryan would not raid Medicare. Have you seen his plan? You know, the one he's running from currently.Kind of like how he is running from Ayn Rand, when he used to worship that woman (until recently of course). As far as lying goes, Romney claiming that Obama will gut Welfare Reform, lie. Or that Obama will cut Medicare, lie. The truth is, which you seem to miss, that the money that's being cut is from subsidies to insurance companies (Ryan had a plan like that too). The actual benefits stay the same. Romney having nothing to do with Bain and was completely finished with them, lie. Still the CEO until 2002. Then he was on a leave of absence, then he retroactively retired. Can't seem to get his story straight. I'm sure Obama has done some distorting on his own, which is why I answered the way I did, but let's be honest, you're going off of false information. When you cut subsidies from insurance, hospitals, and providers, who pays for difference in cost the PATIENT does. I don't know if your on medicare or not but when i receive my medicare summary notice it tells you how much medicared covered and how much you may have to pay the provider. That part of how much you well have to pay well definitely go up and like most seniors they additional ins. you well see that go up as well. INSURANCE COMPANY'S are in the business of making a profit, if they don't they can't stay in business and if that happens than you have SOCIALIZED medicine and that is exactly what that fruitcake in the wh wants.

Fruitcake? Harsh don't you think? Also, here's the thing. Who do you think pays for those subsidies? The taxpayer, so it's coming out of our pocket anyway. Also, the insurance companies shouldn't be too upset, they're getting 30 million new customers. I agree that this isn't the best plan in the world, but given that Romney made it, and Ryan also cut the same amount of money, but is passing the fees directly to the customers, I don't see how that is much better. Becaue you are paying out of pocket more, on top of tax money you're already paying. BTW, if Obama wanted socialized medicine (not really a bad thing) he would have put up more of a fight for it when the debate started.

I tell you what you move to canada and stay there awhile living under socialized medicine and find out what its like living under socialized medicine and see if you like it. If you do than you can stay there.

The "health" insurance mafia is clearly "in the business of making a profit", that's one major reason why the cost of health care is OUTRAGEOUS in America, 17% of the GDP, vs. 6-11% in other Western countries which all have universal health care - and public insurance.

I'm not defending insurance company's. like you said there in business to make a profit, but there are other factors involved like the cost of perscription drugs, doctors, nurses hospitals. The one important factor is that the U.S. has the best health care system and when you have the best sadly you have to pay for it
