I've been to New Jersey, and just no. It's not bad, but there's nothing special about it. I even thought Maryland was better! Either way, Texas is better.

Don't think there is a "best state ever". Most states have their good points and their bad points. Best would depend upon the individual so I am sure you can find people who say that each of the 50 states is the best state.

New Jersey is awesome. Our American Legion Boy's State program is one of the best in the country. For those of you unfamiliar, Boy's State is for the most elite high school juniors in the country. Intelligence, character, and leadership are all necessary. Only the best and brightest get in, and New Jersey has one of the largest. Although our state has it's share of problems, it's on the rise right now. I may be biased but, out of the states I've visited, New Jersey is the best.

Texas can certainly do that but there is nothing in the constitution that prevents any state from seceeding. Secession of the Southern states in 1860 to form the Confederate States of America was perfectly legal. There is a law that prevents secession but the law is not constitutional.

I've been to Texas. I'll take New Jersey and that's saying a lot. New Jersey is way down on my list. But then, I guess it's a good thing we all don't want to live in the same place. It would get pretty crowded. :)

I actually like this crowded place. I dunno. There's people from tons of different places. My stepfather, in fact, came here from Russia, and my mother came from El Salvador. We have thousands of different cultures, and I love that.

I have some friends who now live in Houston. We met when we were living in Colorado Springs. Both of them had been born and raised in Colorado Springs. For some reason, they decided they wanted to move to Houston. I thought they'd last about a year and then high-tail it back to Colorado. No such thing. They're still in TX, it's probably been about 15 years now and love it as much as when they first moved there. Texas is definitely NOT for me, but I'm glad the people who live there like it so much.

That's nice! :D I'm glad they liked it here in Houston. I love it here! Only two things are a bum here, to be honest. The extremely hot summers and the fact that you can't really surf here. There's no such thing as waves here. :(
