My cat is currently 16 and I've had a few fish live for a few years. One fish had a bad habit of killing every newer fish I put in there (with the exception of one fish that decided to join him in his ritualistic slaughter of the new fish), and he did that at least 6 times over 3 years. Annoying little bastard...
Yes, I had a rabbit that apparently lived so long the vet was going to contact the Guinness book of records for worlds longest lived rabbit, unfortunately he died during an operation, vet said if he lived another 6 days he'd of beaten it!
I still cry over my dogs who died at 17 years old. I bought them a year a part, and they died a year a part. I buried them in the back yard. I wish to be creamted and buried next to them, or around them...Sorry for her loss.:(
A 20 yr old stray cat I brought home from Toronto when she was 18 months old and pregnant. Lady, a Pom/Chihuahua cross that I got from the Humane Society lived to be 18; and then Spike, my purebred Chihuahua that I brought home from the pet store died at age 19. Love them like they are our children.........just regret that they live so few years on this earth. They sure deserve more happy years as they have so much to give ...... and they DO.
Well, yes I have had kitties that old adn older... but not a friggin' goldfish. Is that like some sort of world record or something? Are you sure it wasn't a lung fish or something?
Yes he was a goldfish. The age they are supposed to live is almost 25 years if you take exceptional care of them. But most everybody can only get them to last like a 1 week or month.
I knew that in the wild , at least here NW IN they are called carp, and live almost forever.. dreaded to ponds, people kill them when they catch them. But, Aren't they also known as Koi in those special ponds? Well, that little fishy was loved because he sure had a full life.
Yes many..most of my dogs & cats...ive never had a fish live that long thou so that must hard my chihuahua chloe passed in february & she was 18 years old......
Your the 1st I've know to have tropical fish live as long as mine...I have 2, 12yr old silver dollar fish right now! They're so big they look like piranha!
Very hard She was just like a child of our family,
One of our current dogs is a border collie. She is as smart as most 4 year old human children. She knows about 500 words, can count and multiple, add and subtract but hasn't got the hang of division yet. She has about 40 stuffies and knows every one by name! AND she is NOT color blind as some people say dogs are. She recognizes red, blue, green, pink. Yellow is a bit hard as is orange. Black and white are easy. She is also the lead dog of the family's pack of 5. Alpha all the way. She is now 7 and still just as spry as ever.
I had a turtle live from when I was in the 3rd grade to when I was well into college. I had one who died when I was in year 12 of school. There names were Fighter and Biter . I have two more turtles now ... but you will always remember your first pets.
I had fish and guinea pigs when I was little, but they never lasted that long. The fish lasted a few days before they were eaten by another fish and the guinea pigs i only had for a couple of years
My rabbit lasted me 11 years.
I adopted him from the SPCA, he was paralysed and was going to be euthanized but I saw him and new this was the rabbit I had to have. My heart just lead me to him.
I had a strong bond with this loving animal. He repayed me back with a long life, we were (and still are) best friends.
That's the longest living animal I have ever had, other then dogs I mean. He was a special rabbit, definitely one of a kind (:
My dog is going to be 14 next month- she is a little old lady boxer and has now out lived all boxer averages.
