    I think
In a lot of ways .. it definitely hardened my resolve to NEVER be without .. (and always work hard indeed) ..
I knew what it was like to be hungry .. I knew what it was like to not have much at all .. I also knew that I would do what I can to make sure my own children had more opportunities than I had ..
And of course .. that resolve .. steeled me for the challenges of ADULTHOOD .. and the trials/tribulations of going through a short marriage and nasty divorce (knew I could survive on my own .. did it before I married .. and although it took some time .. a LIFE well lived .. where I DID responsibly provide fully for my children myself .. raised them myself .. is the best way to LIVE (and best revenge).
NOW .. that same steeled resolve is letting me tackle the challenges of learning how to navigate life now BLIND too ..

It made it difficult to transition from being a child to an adult. I had a good childhood. Who would want to leave that?

My opinion is that everyone's childhood makes their adult life.
