Depends on what I am doing. If I need finger dexterity for driving, handling items, I prefer gloves, but just out and about walking around I like mittens.
Here is an interesting find… why not have both?

It's more practical to me and probably more warm too. It's difficult trying to hold something or do something with mittens compared to gloves.
