For only a dollar yes. I'd give up a candy bar that I didn't need to eat in the first place. I never play because I think that something will go wrong. However, I'd rather risk a dollar and possibly earn millions than spend it on candy and gain a few pounds.

What is the point? You may as well burn the money.

It's game of chance. Chances are that I won't win, but it is always fun to think you can. It's worth the $5 especially in a bad economy.

Time is the only commodity we can regain. I'll not spend it standing in a line to enrich a corrupted government and a new found millionaire.

Play, but not with a lot of money. I'll put a couple of dollars in the pot, but I don't have much more to spare.
A win would allow me to help over 100 of my friends and associates whose businesses and jobs were destroyed three years ago by an unethical lawyer and bankster to line their personal pockets.

The big jackpot doesn't cost any more to play than the little one, and the odds of winning are the same every time.

I would be a fool if I didn't drop a lousy dollar bill for the chance to win (even though chances are I will get hit by lightening first). LOL lightening

I am not greedy I would be happy just to win 1 million out of the pot. This would pay off our bills and our house and leave us some left over to put back into our IRA's and 401K (we had to withdraw that money to keep up the house payments since my husband has been unemployed since Oct of 09).

Hey, the odds of you winning, are less than the amount you could win. So, at least $1.00.

I always wondered what happens to the millions of dollars in taxes that the state gets from the lottery.

There are actually people out there that claim they wouldn't want such money, and if it is true: it's because they don't think they are entitled to it or want the responsibility associated with it.

    Take care,

I usually get a ticket for each drawing regardless of the payout. At odds of about 176,000,000 to 1 I'm not holding my breath.

This corresponds with a Holic episode that I once watched, it basically stated: Some people would decline a million dollar lottery ticket because they don't think they deserve the money nor the responsibility associated with it: that they are fearful of what it entitles.

    Take care,

Very true. Also, I would not want to have to go into hiding - I've read plenty of stories about people winning the Powerball and then getting killed (or at least violently robbed) a month later. But I suppose with over half a billion dollars you could hire Sylvester Stallone to protect you.

I never thought the idea of making the lottery non anonymous was a good idea: people should have a right to their privacy, especially when they are wining substantial amounts of money.
