Someone painted a US dollar bill with Mario from Mario Bros. The person included lots of detail from the Super Mario theme. I wonder if they could sell the dollar bill for more than one dollar.
.
What does the law say about defacing the dollar bill or US currency? Not as much I expected:
United States Code: TITLE 18 > PART I > CHAPTER 17 > § 333:

Granted a lot of those bills (including a fiver I signed and posted) are Canadian but that's because Hyder Alaska only has road access through British Columbia.
That's not just my opinion, I vaguely recall seeing an interview with a government official who said there was a law against defacing currency but no one had ever been prosecuted for it.
