LET'S ALL MAKE A 2012 'BUCKET LIST.

I won't talk about Obama being gone; that is incidental. I will instead talk about the policies I want to see change:

Strip the government of the powers it has arrogated to itself for more than a century, in violation of the Constitution. That means no freebies for anyone.

The government should restrict itself to these three services:

Police.

Military.

Courts of law.

And that's it.

The only police services the federal government would need, would be the United States Marshal's Service, the Capitol Police Force, and the various armed services police forces (Military Police, Shore Patrol, Air Police). The Marshals should patrol territories, until said territories become States. And I'd like to see the Marshal-in-Chief be elected by the people.

For that matter, I've had enough of the scandals involving Attorneys General that the President appoints, and who serve at the President's pleasure. I think we should do what some States already do: elect the Attorney General separately and apart from the President and Vice-President. That could mean giving that job to the Electoral College, or mandating a separate Electoral College. The idea is to separate the Attorney General from the rest of "The Administration," so that the AG could investigate the President himself.

And to keep the AG in line, forget about recommending prosecution for contempt of Congress. Go all the way to preferring Articles of Impeachment.
