CHARLOTTE, N.C. Portraying Charlotte as an emblem of a financial system gone awry, a police-estimated 1800 chanting and sign-wielding protesters demanded reform from the DNC and President Obama Sunday as they marched through uptown.
Organizers said more than 1,000 took part, . What one organizer called a “family-friendly” march ended with few clashes between police and protesters.
Among the isolated signs of trouble: a man with large rocks in his hand, looking like he was getting ready to throw them, spotted by police on an overpass on the parade route. The man dropped the rocks and ran when officers approached, police Chief Rodney Monroe said. He has not been apprehended.
Police arrested two people during the two-hour march. Medics treated two people struggling in the 92-degree heat.
The protesters come from a coalition of more than 90 local and national groups, from Students for a Democratic Society to Veterans for Peace.
For all of them, Charlotte , the DNC and Obama is a perfect target due to it's financial reputation.
These protest groups are not conservative type Republican groups. We have the list of groups who aquired permits and will adress the leaders named if necessary. According to Charlotte police dept. there were more protests in the first hour in Charlotte than the entire RNC convention in Tampa. Seems the protesters are focused on the DNC/Obama not on the Republicans, I hope we can handle them but if not we will have other Law Enforcement come to our aid said the dept. representative.

While Obama blasted Bush over the war, he also voted to fund that war with the proviso that Kenya received some of that funding. LOOK IT UP, I DID. I researched Obama's "jobs bills" and saw where Harry Reid (who is a democrate) put a stop to in the senate in 2011... I voted for Obama as my state Senator and waited to see his votes in the senate. After researching his votes, I watched all the debates; and knew he was just saying what he thought Americans wanted to hear.

This is Obama's military, where homosexuality is celebrated and Christianity is censored; where witches are financed and crosses are scorned; where bestiality is embracedand Bibles are banned; where same-sex "weddings" are encouraged but international charity is not! After three years of ideological warfare, the Obama administration's intent is clear: to disarm the military of its biggest weapon…..FAITH!
Regardless of Obama's agenda, there is absolutely nothing in the Constitution that empowers the government to stop family members from giving Bibles or crosses to their loved ones! And from a PR standpoint, I'm not sure the best way to boost approval ratings is by denying comfort to wounded warriors! Unfortunately for our troops, who have endured so much turmoil under the Obama administration, this is another blow!
Hopefully, with the help of Congressman King and others, it's only a temporary one.

I live in Tampa---the big story was "Where are the Protesters?"
There were protestors set up to go to the RNC and I know some were there....
I don't watch YouTube videos... They're not reliable...
Read the Tampa Tribune---they had reporters on bikes looking for protesters---none to be found. People everywhere but no protesters but code pink. that's reality
President Obama stated a few times that he doesn't understand why he pays less in taxes then the middle class.
You're entitled to your opinion about the President, but I question what you may consider facts!
I'm guessing you don't know the details of what happened with that jobs bill since you say it was rejected by both parties!
The President's bill didn't have ANY POLICY language in it, and wasn't intended to come up for a vote, but the REPUBLICANS brought it up anyway.
Now what would they do that for? They've never voted for anything the president was for and they KNEW no one would vote on a bill that had no policy in it! Republicans wanted make the claim, to people who don't know any better, that the bill was rejected by both parties!
There were questionable things in President Obama's voting records, but not anymore questionable then McCain, or Ryan for that matter.
Let not kid each other here.. Who cares if the president is a very eloquent speaker, GWB sounds like a bumbling idiot and he was elected TWICE, lets not go there.
President Obama was the better choice than and he's the better choice now..
