He's right, too. In all his Westerns, he always pointed out that the Indians (as we all called them then) had their dignity, and never got the proper treatment. Listen to him stand up to the mad officer Henry Fonda in Fort Apache.

John W. is irony in pants. He was not a cowboy; He was not a soldier; and, he only played them in Hollywood. His real name was Marion. Who cares what a long dead actor has to say who was more tough guy on screen than in real life. His position may have more weight if he had done more than pretend.

Yup. And that doesn't change the fact the John Wayne was a Hollywood role and nothing more.

    That is your opinion Kevin.

It's not my opinion; it's a fact.J.W. was born Marion Mitchell Morrison. John Wayne is a stage name. He did not serve in WWII or in the military at all, by. his choice. He was not a real cowboy; he grew up in Glendale, CA, and his father was a pharmacist. Pretending to be a soldier or a cowboy does not make one a soldier or a cowboy.

Okay Kevin..I like his looks, I like big TALL men, I like his acting(yes Kevin ACTING) I like how he talks, I like what he stood for, we have much in common.

John Wayne was eulogized by President Jimmy Carter. "He was bigger than life. In an age of few heroes, he was the genuine article. But he was more than a hero. He was a symbol of so many of the qualities that made America great. The ruggedness, the tough independence, the sense of personal courage - on and off screen - reflected the best of our national character.

Is that the John Wayne who played the same character in every movie. And I'm supposed to think he was good at acting? C'mon folks. Actually he wouldn't agree with you at all, that's how little you know about John Wayne.
